Dear brothers and sisters,

"Open, and open wide the doors to Jesus Christ" (extract St. John Paul II). Whit this phrase pronunced from the Pope St. John Paul II, I have the pleasure and honour to present this website that I created within the Pastoral Parrish Council. We decided to promote the beauty of the paths dedicated to the Pope who always choise this location for his peaceful trips in our mountains, in the villages of Filettino (FR) and Piglio (FR).

Mountains, forests, fresh air, are all elements for to give peace and relaxtion; to help you to restore your body and spirit therefor your soul. If the green colour of the beech trees in Filettino and the green phat of Piglio create tranquillity and peace you can achieve peace of mind in these unique places. The forest of beechs of Filettino embrace all the path of St. John Paul II and it is within the monument trees list of the Lazio Region in the Regional Park of Simbruini mountains, which Filettino is a part of. Both itinerary are easy to walk on foot. In this case to walk in the forest in summer and on the snow in winter time or in autumn in the carpit of leafs among the win and the sound of the birds singing, you can appreciate the beauty of God and the view of the Mount Viglio mountain. On the side of the mountain there is this path that leads you nearer to the Heavens and God. These paths of Piglio and Filettino were visited over and over again from St. John Paul II, and I propose you to walk in the faith, but in silence, to respect nature and the beauty of the location. Two paths dedicated to St. John Paul II are surelly the itinerarys that pilgrims can visit during extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy, propose from the Pope Francis in Rome. i like to end this letter with the prayer of blessing of the stone (sculptured by Mario Giacomini and put in the place by Giuseppe Consalvi`s family) that is located in Filettino Serra S. Antonio, near the skiing resort (ski station): Campo Staffi; where begins the St. John Paul II path which ends in Belvedere place where you can see a statue of Our Lady of the Alpes allocated by the people of Civitella Roveto (AQ) between the surroundings of Lazio and Abruzzo Regions.

"Go up to you o God, our praise, our Father, who in your providence lead to an end of goodness and grace of the hardships and human projects, for relief to body and spirit and help us to dispose of our leisure time wisely. Listen to the Lord our trusting prayer because this stone placed here by the Parish of Filettino in memory or the Supreme Pontiff St. John Paul II, great lover of the mountains, which today this Community called this nature trail, increases the love and the respect for the good of creation, strenghten the faith in the power of he Holy Spirit, confident that those who will walk in this pleasant path can have the serenity of the soul as a reward. Let all mountain lovers, tourists, and those who are unable for health reasons, will travel this path also virtually experience in fairness the value of the friendship and overcoming all forms of violence in communion with Christ promote the civilization of love. through Christ our Lord, Amen.

God bless you all, each and every one.
